An update on the programs for young people at BigRock Aikikai

At BigRock Aikikai, we are currently running several online classes for the U18 ranks. These classes are taught by young instructors, who are a part of Steve Sensei’s Instructor’s Training Program. These ITP have been working hard to run their classes as best as they can through the online environment, and teach around 1 to 5 classes per week. Many students eagerly participate in these online classes and enjoy being able to interact with fellow Aikido members. These students have 1 or 2 virtual Aikido classes every week, and are able to practise Aikido, learn new techniques, and have lots of fun!

BigRock Aikikai has also been encouraging a new program called Budo Accelerator, which is a non-profit organization for teens and young adults. This program uses Aikido to enhance young peoples’ knowledge and understanding of the world around them, so they can acquire important and beneficial skills that can be used in their everyday lives. Many of our students have expressed interest in this program, and have excitedly signed up!
