2026 Spring Intensive Overnight Camp for the Instructor Training Program

All of our young teachers are invited to join us for our Instructor Training Program Spring Intensive, happening from Saturday, May 2nd - Sunday, May 3rd. Please join us for this annual overnight camp, taking place at BigRock Aikikai - G, 7004 5th Street SE, Calgary AB.

Here is the link to the registration form. If your child has been thinking about becoming an ITP but has not done so yet, this camp would be the perfect way to start! All students who are a blue belt and 9yrs+ are eligible to join the Instructor Training Program.  

This intensive is an incredible opportunity for our ITP to strengthen their technical abilities, foster their skillsets as teachers, and enjoy the best camaraderie through our ITP Olympics games!

Yep, you heard correctly - our famous ITP Olympics will be an exciting component of this Spring Intensive. Participants will compete in numerous events designed to test their skills in all the primary techniques we use as instructors in our aikido classes. The ITP Olympics events have become known as the most exciting and challenging events within the Instructor Training Program, and they will take place at the upcoming ITP camp!

In addition, this intensive has a strong focus on building solid teaching skills and technical Aikido skills at all levels. Our goal is to provide the ITP with more confidence and reliability in these skillsets, allowing them to foster the same abilities in their students and resulting in more successful students and teachers alike. Sat May 2nd
3:30-4:00 - drop off
4:00 - Awards & Recognition
4:15-8:00 -  Teaching & Technical Skills Training
8:00-9:00 - Pizza
9:00-12:00 - ITP Olympics
12:00 and onward - movie & sleep

Sun May 3rd
7:30-8:00 - wake up
8:00-9:00 - breakfast
9:00-12:00 - ITP Olympics, Teaching & Technical Skills Training
12:00 - pick up

Please ensure your child eats well before dropping them off.  We have a jam-packed schedule and won't eat until quite late :)
